Fees for drafting or reviewing letters operate on a sliding scale, depending on the nature of the issue and the means of the client. Communications advice is the largest part of Clayton's no-fee practice and comments or assistance are often provided free of charge.
Election Finance
Determining whether a political contribution has been made or whether an election expense has been incurred can be challenging, with serious ramifications. Clayton advises political parties, candidates and third parties on their election finance obligations, including the recording of contributions and expenses, and financial reporting requirements.
Election Advertising
Advertisements that meet the definition of election advertising are subject to regulation in many jurisdictions. Clayton advises governmental organizations, third parties and media organizations on whether certain advertisements should be considered election advertising and what their obligations are with respect to such advertisements. Clayton can also assist with the election advertising sponsor registration process, including the filing of disclosure reports.
