By-elections
A by-election is an election held to fill a seat in a legislature that has become vacant between regularly scheduled elections. By-elections often occur when the incumbent has died or resigned, but may also occur when the incumbent becomes ineligible to continue in office.

Quebec to hold By-election in Kamouraska-Témiscouata on 29 November 2010

The Chief Electoral Officer of Quebec has announced that there will be a by-election in the electoral district of Kamouraska-Témiscouata on 29 November 2010. There are alos three federal by-elections scheduled for this date.
Advance voting will also be available every day from the 19th until the 25th of November.
In an effort to ensure that official agents of candidates are aware of the rules for by-elections, notably election finance rules, the Chief Electoral Officer will be hosting a teleconference call for official agents. This conference call will be held on 4 November at 19:00.
Official agents and their associates can register for the conference call by calling 1-877-327-2083.
