Elections Saskatchewan Posts Election Expense Limits for 2011

With a provincial general election coming up on 7 November 2011, Elections Saskatchewan has posted the election expense limits that will apply to registered political parties and candidates.

The election expense limit for registered political parties for the general election is $908,093.00.

Saskatchewan has two different election expense limits for candidates, with a greater amount reserved for the two large and sparsely populated constituencies in the North.

For candidates in the electoral districts of Cumberland and Athabasca, the election expense limit is $70,230.00 or $7.00 times the number of registered electors in the district, whichever is greater. For all other candidates, the election expense limit is $52,674.00 or $3.52 times the number of registered electors in the district, whichever is greater.
